Overload

In this test, for the case of the 1694 the channel current is exceeded. The power supply can provide the necessary current (1A+) without going into overload. The microprocessor shuts down the output affected after about 3 seconds according to the time/current characteristic curve of the 1694. For the case of the MCBs the thermal characteristics of these breakers need extended time to detect an overcurrent condition, in this case about 180 seconds to 300 seconds or more. This extended time does not provide the expected protection for an overload condition. The conductors heat up during this extended time. This could cause damage to the wiring.   Click for more information
